God Who Sees Me

“Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are God Who Sees”; for she said, “Have I not even here remained alive after seeing Him?” Genesis 16:13

This is the prayer of Hagar, the maid of Sarai and Abram. Sarai didn’t have any children yet and was advancing in age, so she encouraged her husband Abram to marry and have a child with Hagar. After Hagar conceived, there was tension between the 2 women, so Hagar left.

In Hagar’s reply to the Angel of the Lord who appeared to her, she used the name El Roi, the God who sees me.

He IS the God who sees! Nothing in your life is hidden from Him. If you don’t understand what is happening around you, or in you, know that He sees. If you don’t see the outcome you’d expected or hoped for, or the promises fulfilled yet, He sees and He’s not finished writing your story. Trust Him. Lean into Him, and follow Him!
